BKvibro VC8000 portable vibration analyser setup – VP8000 Vibroport 8000 – A powerful tool for vibration analysis

EPS have installed numerous BKvibro VC8000 systems but this is a first for the VP8000 Vibroport 8000 system. This allows up to 24 channels to be monitored and comes in a portable configuration.

EPS is configuring the system for our customer to analyse a Power Turbine on an offshore installation.

Get in touch if you have any requirements for either a system, setup or vibration analysis.

Portable Version: VP‑8000

While the VC‑8000 is typically permanently installed, its modular architecture enabled the creation of a portable variant, the VIBROPORT 8000 (VP‑8000):

  • Ideal for temporary or mobile diagnostics.

  • Shares components and capabilities with the VC‑8000—including waveform capture features and the “flight recorder” concept

  • Specs include up to 24 channels, 32 GB removable SD storage, 256 GB internal SSD, sampling rates from 16 to 1,024 samples/sec, and resolutions up to 12,800 spectral lines for high-fidelity data capture

BKvibro VC8000

The BKvibro VC8000 is a rack-mounted, continuous machinery protection and monitoring system built to comply with API Standard 670 for machinery protection systems

Key Capabilities:

  • Multi-channel monitoring: Monitors up to 60 channels for vibration, position, and speed—or up to 90 channels for temperature and other process variables—all within a single 19-inch rack

  • Simplified modular design: Uses just four basic module types, making maintenance and spare parts management easier

  • Advanced diagnostics: Beyond safety, the system supports comprehensive condition monitoring when paired with SETPOINT® CMS software and OSIsoft PI System®. This allows for deep asset insights like orbits, Bode plots, and other diagnostic outputs

  • Integrated system architecture: Can be expanded into a plant-wide monitoring setup, integrating with devices like the VCM‑3 field monitor, unified through SETPOINT® CMS and PI System

Advanced Features & Reliability

  • Flight Recorder: A notable feature that continuously captures and stores critical data—providing pre-event snapshots, aiding post-failure analysis

  • Machine state alarming: Supports configuration for hydro and low-speed machinery, with specialised channels for specific measurements like hydro radial vibration, air gap, and magnetic flux, accompanied by alarm thresholds and detailed diagnostics

  • Robust design: Delivers reliable machine protection while enabling spare-less, flexible upgrades in the same hardware footprint.
