The Switch Output Module provides an interface between the control system and sixteen two state plant output devices (e.g. solenoids, contactors etc).
- 16 channels arranged as four groups.
- Separate plant power for each of the four groups.
- All output groups isolated.
- Outputs turned off if watchdog trips.
- Output status monitored to check correct board operation.
- Card edge lamps for output status, plant power and board healthy indication.
- Inbuilt diagnostic and card watchdog facilities.
- All bus and plant connections via rear of card allowing easy installation.
- Easy connection to DIN rail mounted plant termination modules providing a relay interface to the plant.
- Outputs can be controlled either as a single bit or as a complete 16 bit word.

Interface Modules
The DIN rail mounted termination modules provide a simple means of interfacing the rack mounted boards to the plant wiring. They also allow the ‘standard’ interface of the board to be ‘tailored’ to the specific plant requirements. Modules are available offering volt-free, fused or powered relay contacts. The interface to the board is via 4 off 14 way ribbon cables, one for each group of 4 channels. The interface to the plant is via screw terminals capable of accommodating 2.5 mm2 wire and also via a test plug in parallel with the screw terminals.
