OSM cards are set and tested to site requirements in house – We ordering the long number after the part number tells EPS the frequency setting requirements so is required with all orders.

The Overspeed Trip Module provides the control system with a high integrity triple voting overspeed detector.

  • Accurate independent trip setting.
  • High integrity command/status bus interface.
  • Three channel voting minimises nuisance tripping and failure to trip.
  • Full self test on start-up, while running and on command.
  • Input open circuit and signal fail detection.
  • User code system watchdog .
  • Card edge lamps for status and board healthy indication.
  • Inbuilt diagnostic and card watchdog facilities.
  • All bus and plant connections via rear of card allowing easy installation.
  • Easy connection to DIN rail mounted plant termination modules.

Interface Modules

The DIN rail mounted termination modules provide a simple means of interfacing the rack mounted boards to the plant wiring. They also allow the ‘standard’ interface of the board to be ‘tailored’ to the specific plant requirements.

The interface to the board is via 2 off 14 way ribbon cables, one for speed probe inputs and one for the relay outputs.

The interface to the plant is via screw terminals capable of accommodating 2.5 mm2 wire and also via a test plug in parallel with the screw terminals.
